The Launch Pad Mentorship Coordinator 

Hours: 

Approx. 16 per week. 

Reports to: 

The Launch Pad Mentorship Coordinator reports to The Launch Pad Program Director. 

Job Overview: 

The Launch Pad Mentorship Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all circle-based mentorship programming at The Launch Pad and local schools. Circle-based mentorship and its associated programming offer teens in the community a space to share, listen, and feel supported and encouraged by their peers and the adult mentors who run the circles. A successful coordinator will help the program grow by forming strong community connections with local schools and community partners, as well as effectively managing the outstanding volunteer base the program thrives on. This position is for someone who is highly motivated, self-directed, energetic, committed to the “Kids at Hope” philosophy, creative, and excited to learn about the unique practices The Launch Pad uses in helping youth become more fully themselves. 

The responsibilities for this position include the following 

Recruitment and management of volunteer mentors. 

Organization of training for mentors. 

Organization of mentorship programs, including circles (weekly at The Launch Pad and school sites across the county), rites of passage weekends (twice annually), and other weekend activities (twice monthly). 

Regular communications with school administrators, parents, and youth advocates at partner agencies. 

Coordination of registration and documentation for youth in the program. Written reports on the success and challenges of the program. 

Communication with other Program Coordinators and the Program Director at The Launch Pad Teen Center. 

Attendance in program staff meetings. 

Management of Boys to Men Social Media. 

Act as a mandatory reporter. 

And other duties as assigned. 

Experience required for this position include: 

Experience working with adolescents and ideally experience in coaching/mentoring/tutoring adolescents. 

Leadership and Volunteer Experience. 

A Finger Print Clearance Card. 

A Background Check (conducted through The Launch Pad Teen Center). Kolbe MO Assessment (provided by The Launch Pad Teen Center).
