As a vital part of the local economy, the mission of Prescott Farmers Market is to support and expand local agriculture, cultivate a healthy community and increase access to affordable local foods. Prescott Farmers Market (PFM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Greater Prescott Area through the following programs.
- PFM’s foundational program is its Saturday market, where local farmers, ranchers, food, and craft artisans sell their goods. This market provides a space for community connection through food.
- Feed Your Neighbors connects fresh produce from local farms to food-insecure households via food box deliveries and vouchers.
- Prescott Community Compost is a volunteer-powered program turning food scraps into nutrient-rich compost for our community.
- NoCo Community Kitchen is a shared kitchen providing commissary space for small food businesses.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Kitchen Program Manager believes in collaboration over competition and strives to foster a community of support for small food businesses in the Prescott Area. The Kitchen Program Manager oversees all day-to-day operations of NoCo Community Kitchen, Prescott Farmers Market’s shared-use commercial kitchen for food entrepreneurs and community partners. This role combines facility management, small business recruitment, onboarding, support and compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Kitchen Operations 45%
- Conduct regular facility inspections, addressing deficiencies promptly and ensuring the facility is adequately stocked, maintained, clean, and organized.
- Manage all Food Corridor bookings, reconcile with sign-in and sign-out logs, and review billing each month
- Maintain regular communication with health department ensure the kitchen meets all local, state, and federal health and safety requirements at all times
- Be the primary point of contact for kitchen emergencies
- Evaluate current systems and identify opportunities for cost savings in the kitchen
Kitchen Member Recruitment and Management 45%
- Recruit prospective kitchen members through cold and warm outreach, fielding inquiries, conducting facility tours, and guiding them through the application process, including onboarding, orientation, and their initial health department inspection
- Serve as primary point of contact for kitchen members, responding to questions, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining regular face-to-face communication
- Create added value for kitchen members and prospects (blogs, social media, kitchen newsletter, etc.)
- Ensure all kitchen users maintain current food safety certifications and required permits
- Promote a collaborative environment among and between all kitchen users, both in the kitchen and at the Saturday Market
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and referral sources, including networking opportunities.
Program Administration 10%
- Maintain the kitchen web page with current rental information, resources, and member highlights
- Lead the development and oversight of the annual program budget
- Review and reconcile program income and expenses on a monthly basis
- Actively explore grant opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to support kitchen sustainability
- Monitor pricing structure and utilization data to inform financial planning
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum four years experience in small business management, food industry, operations, client and/or project management
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfort with public speaking, giving tours, and building relationships
- Valid Food Protection Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Attention to detail and ability to hold others accountable to standards
- Basic budgeting and financial tracking skills
- Desire to help small businesses succeed, grow and thrive
- Proficiency with basic computer systems including Google Workspace, Slack, and scheduling software and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Ability to take initiative to solve problems with both technology, the facility, and people
- Fluent in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree
- Fluent in Spanish
- Experience in marketing, communications, or community outreach
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, food safety standards and regulations
- Experience in food service, commercial kitchen operations, or hospitality management
- Experience with nonprofit operations or program management
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Part-time, hourly
- 25-30 hours per week
- $22-$24/hour starting wage, commensurate with experience
- Annual Cost of Living Allowance raise
- Up to 80 hours PTO annually
- Three paid holidays and one week paid winter break
