Position Overview:

Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters (YBBBS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Individual Giving and Grants to join our team. This key leadership position will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase individual giving, managing our major gift and planned giving programs, and overseeing all aspects of grant writing and management. The Director of Individual Giving and Grants will play a crucial role in securing the financial resources needed to support our mission of helping at-risk youth in Yavapai County through one-on-one mentoring relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual Giving Campaigns:
    • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive individual giving campaigns, including annual appeals, donor stewardship, and donor recognition programs.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective individual donors to increase engagement and financial support.
    • Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials and communications that effectively convey YBBBS’s mission and impact.
  • Major Gifts and Planned Giving:
    • Design and execute a major gifts program, including identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors.
    • Develop and implement a planned giving strategy, including the promotion of legacy giving opportunities, to secure long-term support for YBBBS.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to engage and solicit potential major donors.
  • Grant Writing and Management:
    • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with YBBBS’s mission and programs.
    • Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
    • Manage the grant application process, including tracking deadlines, reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with grant guidelines.
    • Work with program Director to gather necessary information and data to support grant applications and reports.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
    • Partner with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals.
    • Coordinate with Executive Director and Program Director to ensure that funding priorities are in line with program needs and objectives.
    • Attend and participate in YBBBS events, meetings, and community activities as a representative of the organization.
  • Administration and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, gifts, and grants in the organization’s donor management system (Donor Perfect).
    • Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress, donor engagement, and grant status for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
    • Monitor and report on fundraising and grant trends, providing strategic recommendations for future initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field /or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record in individual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and grant writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and steward donor relationships, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience in crafting persuasive proposals and donor communications.
  • Knowledge of donor management software and grant management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Passion for YBBBS’s mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of at-risk youth.
  • Ability to travel locally for meetings, events, and donor visits.

Work Environment:

This position is based in our Prescott, AZ office, with occasional travel to our Cottonwood office and other locations in Yavapai County, including Sedona, for meetings and events. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
