Tax Preparer/Reviewer

Tax Responsibilities:
Accurately and efficiently prepare complex business, and individual tax returns
Have expert understanding of complex tax concepts such as basis, depreciation methods and calculations, 1031 exchanges, multi-state allocations, etc.
Complete a self-review of tax returns before sending to manager for review and be able to review a prior-year tax return to determine if information is missing from source documents provided by clients.
Ability to prepare exempt organization and trust tax returns a plus
Research complex tax issues
Perform tax planning for clients and answer tax questions
Be able to analyze client financial statements for tax and operational efficiencies
Act as a mentor to less experienced staff; review their work and provide guidance
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or above required (in Accounting/Tax or Finance a plus)
5 years tax experience-able to prepare at advanced level and review staff work
Able to read, understand and adjust financial statements accordingly
Knowledge and use of Lacerte strongly desired
Impeccable math and accounting skills
CPA or EA a strong plus
Proficient QuickBooks user (QBO/QBD) desired
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and efficient computer skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills; Be able to clearly communicate missing information and specific questions directly to the tax or accounting manager in a timely fashion.

Salary: From $80,000.00 per year based on experience (or hourly if part-time/seasonal)
